A Ride Through Singapore
After a day of riding around Singapore The Osmosno Brothers have declared it a pleasant and civilised place. As Asian capital cities go, as any city goes come to that, this is a clean and well ordered society benefiting from fresh air, leafy parks and well behaved traffic. There is always an exception of course and yesterday it was two fools on white bicycle who somehow managed to find themselves in the middle of a busy motorway tunnel with lots of angry drivers tooting and gesticulating franticly that this sort of thing is simply not done in Singapore.
We have had a few little issues, I had no chain and I had no lens cap for my camera, don’t ask why, i just didn’t. We went hunting for a lens cap, we went hunting for a chain. We rode through the financial district, through Little India and Little Arabia. We rode trough a leafy park along the coast and we were photographed aplenty. We rode through The Raffles, we rode through a tunnel and we got into trouble.
People like the white Alta bikes and we had enthusiastic enquiries about them. We had a good day and celebrated with a Guinness. We enjoyed the Guinness and celebrated a little more with one or two additional Guinness’ and we discovered that the Guinness here is rather strong.
We still have one or two areas to visit and I still have a lens cap to locate.
Singapore is a fine place, we will leave from the Raffles Hotel tomorrow morning.
